We are in the shit. Trump and his army of miscreants are dismantling our government, destroying the rule of law, threatening judges and whistleblowers, using creeps with full facial masks to apprehend US citizens and then drop them overseas in horrendous conditions, in foreign prisons managed by dictators. These are just a few of the initiatives being implemented by Trump with his executive orders. There are so many more. his destruction of education for our young people, his intention of reducing Medicare, Medicaid and revamping Social Security so people receive less when they retire. If Trump has his way, he will destroy our universities, destroy our museums, destroy our cultural heritage by infusing it with propaganda and lies. Trump is set on creating a dreadful world where he and his supporters can take advantage of everyone else.

Corruption, lies, greed and disease are the just a few of the marauding horsemen of the current administration. I fear for the future of our children and experience anxiety about the future of our democratic republic while at the same time, I enjoy a certain amount of certainty (schadenfreude) that Trump and his army of miscreants will create such a mess of our country and economy, that there will be political upheaval, and they will be thrown out on their butts eventually.
Germans have a word for experiencing pleasure in response to other people's grief or misfortune. The word is Schadenfreude (damage-joy). Many cultures do not have a word for enjoying other's misfortunes and indeed it is rather shameful really. But Germany does have a word for enjoying other's misfortunes and other countries and cultures have adopted the German word in their vocabulary. The word is not yet established in the US language but with division and hate as principal characteristics of our politics, schadenfreude is becoming part of our language.As a democrat, I believe the government should provide health care for all, good quality public education for all children, fair taxes paid by all (especially billionaires), and that small businesses are the backbone of this country. I am for the working man and woman of America.
Trump is creating a world where all western countries are our “enemies”, and suggesting that Russia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE and North Korea? are our friends?). And with the “Big Beautiful Bill”, Trump and his bottom feeders are poised to make the biggest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in the history of the United States.1
Trump is destroying our country. Wake up everyone! We need to band together to defeat this sod and the disease and corruption of this administration.
