What the fuck is going on? Why is Trump destroying US relationships with other western countries? Countries that share the same values as we do? Countries that believe in free elections, human rights, accountable leadership, individual freedom and rule of law?
For decades the alliance of free and democratic countries has provided a bulwark against aggression and the spread of authoritarianism, fascism or communism. Article 5 of the NATO is registers the principal that “an attack on one is an attack on all”. Now Trump wants out.
People in western countries believe in economic freedom, open markets, free enterprise, freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of movement, and the belief in personal freedom. I guess these freedoms are not convenient for Trump?
None of these western values are respected or protected in a dictatorship. None. So why is Trump so intent on destroying our relationships with other democracies and allying with Putin and Russia?
Trump’s “Mandate”
Trump won the 2024 Presidential election with 49.8% of the popular vote. So almost half of the people who voted in the United States voted for Trump. And in total percentage of the US population, that would mean approximately 33% of the people in the US, voted for Trump. One third.
Among the hot button issues of the election were, food prices, energy prices, immigration and DEI. Nobody, nowhere supported the destruction of our western alliance. Maybe Bannon and Musk were on board before the election? But allying with Putin was not a mandate of the 50% of the population that supported Trump.
Now, less than 40% of the US population supports Trump, and since the first weeks of his administration he decides to destroy our democracy single handedly? !!
Trump to be the Law?
On February 18, 2025, President Donald Trump signed an executive order titled “Ensuring Accountability for All Agencies”. This new order is to increase presidential oversight of independent regulatory bodies – granting the president the authority to determine the law and who must follow it. The Guardian
I will say that again. Trump just dropped an order that will allow him to determine what the law is and who must follow it.
How many times have we heard Trump say that judges who rule against him are biased or politically motivated? Be real. Every single time! Every time, Trump thinks he is right and whoever is against him, …. wrong.
Now with the new executive order, Trump gives himself the power to determine the truth, and make people follow it. So for instance, if a judge makes a ruling he doesn’t like he will correct the judge and maybe throw the judge in jail? (I guess he would be able to do that with collaboration from cretins at the Attorney General and FBI?)
We are almost completely fucked people! Now is the time. We need to stand together and get a game plan put together to get this mean, gigantically corrupt, evil son of a bitch of a felon, out of the Whitehouse and out of our government. We all have to start somewhere.
